James Rose
Director of Maintenance, Rotary Operations
James Rose is Blackcomb Aviation’s Director of Rotary Maintenance. He is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with 18 years aviation including 2 years as Base Manager and Base Engineer in Fort Nelson, BC. At Blackcomb, James directs the scheduling and administration of maintenance, repair, and modification for Blackcomb’s rotary fleet. He liaises with aircraft manufacturers and Transport Canada on all matters concerning aircraft continuing worthiness including evaluation, inspection and the necessary testing to maintain strict standards of aircraft safety.
Chris Frey
Director of Maintenance, Fixed Wing Operations
Chris Frey is Blackcomb Aviation’s Director of Fixed Wing Maintenance. Chris supervises line maintenance on Citation 550, Bravo A/C, Super King Air 350 and Citation Sovereign. He has also provided line maintenance on Lear 35, Lear 55, and heavy maintenance on a variety of business jet aircraft. Chris graduated from BCIT’s A.M.E. Program in 1999 and completed a Management Skills program at Langara College in 2008. Prior to joining Blackcomb, Chris worked for a Canadian jet charter company who provided private charters and Medi-Vac air services throughout North America. In addition to his work at Blackcomb, Chris has worked as a part time A.M.E. instructor at BCIT.
Trevor Wulff
Chief Engineer, Rotary Wing Division
Trevor Wulff is Blackcomb Aviation’s Chief Engineer, Rotary Wing Division. Trevor completed his training at BCIT’s Aerospace Program in 2002 and has his Category M1 Diploma. He is endorsed on Eurocopter AS350 B2 and Arriel 1-1D Engines, and AS355 F, F1, and F2. Prior to joining Blackcomb, Trevor worked as a contract engineer and later, Base Engineer in Port McNeill and Pemberton.
Dave Anderson
Rotary Wing Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Dave Anderson is a Rotary Wing Aircraft Maintenance Engineer under contract to Blackcomb Aviation. Dave is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with 25 years experience on Bell 204, 212, 214B, 206, 206L3, AS350 and AS355. This is further supported by multiple seasons in heli-skiing operations, firefighting tours across Canada, overseas tours in the Middle East and India for 212 seismic and “D” checks (Bell 204, Bell 212), and BC logging operations, including routine line maintenance.
Patrick Chesters
Fixed Wing Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Patrick Chesters is a Fixed Wing AME at Blackcomb Aviation’s Vancouver/Richmond base at YVR. He graduated from BCIT in 1999 where he obtained his Diploma in Trades, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category M. Since then he has worked for several west coast aviation companies, joining Blackcomb in 2007. Along the way, Patrick obtained his M2 Licence (2002) and M1 Licence (2003). His qualifications in heavy maintenance and field maintenance are extensive and include training specific to the Citation 510/550 Series and King Air 300/350.
