Chief Pilot and Operations Manager, Omega Aviation
Gerry Kearney is Operations Manager and Chief Pilot for Omega Aviation. Since 1971, Gerry has acquired an Airline transport rating with 16,000 hours, flying everything from Bell 407s to Sikorsky S76s. Gerry's heavy lift work experience encompasses heli-logging, pipe line construction, seismic-related operations, mountain top repeater construction, and 10,000 hours of longline slinging experience. Additionally Gerry has experience in air ambulance operations, forest fire fighting, and landing in confined (mountainous) terrain. His overseas experience includes work in Somalia and Uganda for the United Nations (Bell/212) and one year with World Health in French West Africa. Gerry Kearney holds a Commercial fixed Wing License and AME maintenance license. He is involved in recurrent training programs for both international pilots (Mexico and Austria) and Canadian pilots on Bell407, AS355 Twinstar and Bell 206/222. Gerry's previous employers have been Canadian/Okanagan Helicopters, Heavylift-IFR, Highland Helicopters, Vancouver Island Helicopters, and Northern Mountain.
